What kind of disease
by fashion industry in your first image coming out?
Be honest, I saw the
result which is “eating disorders” appeared a lot from the Google searching
engine, I was shocked. It is not chemical disease.
"In general,
when I'm working with patients, this concept of a 'thin ideal' does come
up," said Dr. Allegra Broft, a psychiatrist in the Eating Disorders
Program at Columbia Psychiatry, who explained that eating disorders are very
complicated in terms of their etiology. And also according to the National
Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, around 70 % of girls
said magazine images impact their ideals of perfect shape. Although it is not
100% data to support whether or not the general trend of over-thin models which
cause people outside of fashion industry to develop disordered eating, we still
should consider on seriously.
A fashion model
said, as she grew older in an industry where her ability to work depended on “her
size”, and where models have little control over many basic aspects of their
lives, she began to cut out certain foods. All interviewers measured her said,
"Hips 102 cm." General, models have hips of 86.5-89 cm, or
34"-35". Anything over 90 cm is considered undesirable. How is sad
story! There are super common and be showed every day in fashion industry.
The poor situation is not only occurred
inside of fashion industry. But also it is doing in our life every day. Let me
share my own experience and how sick of Asia girls around me. They usually diet
whole the years with one day one simple meal, such as salad without dressing,
the food soaked in hot water before eating. If they really cannot stand for
having dessert, don’t worry they will take it and without eat anything the day.
And we will consider about how are they keeping the basic health? They take the
pills, Vitamin… They really think that
only “beautiful shape” even exchanged by the health.
Let’s
work hard to move away the sick eating habit and beauty identity, as following
by this video.
